This job was enough to get through school and to get a degree that would help kick start and advance afterwards, and that is about it. Early onset carpel tunnel, back pain and tendonitis is fairly common among employees. It is a fast paced work environment, yet staffing is very little due to labor cuts made by corporate every few months, so your body will be put through a lot of physical labor. The pay is simply not enough for the amount of work you will be asked to do. Customers are a priority standards, safety, and the wellbeing of employees are put way last. The management again depends on location, but the higher the management, the less trusting and dependable they are. However, that is about it as far as the pros go. Promotion within the company is a nice and simple process, that is another plus.

There are very flexible work hours (depending on location), exceptional Part-time benefits (vision, dental, health, tuition reimbursement at ASU, PTO, free coffee and more), and a casual work environment. I would say that Starbucks overall is a great college job to have. The CEO gets like 11 million a year, and I can't even afford to rent anywhere. The pay could definitely be higher for the amount of work we do. Free coffee every week, I have a 401K, health insurance, etc. After working a total of 14 years in customer service I am really ready to switch up my career. My new store started off good, but the environment can become very negative at times because people like to gossip. I transferred again because I had to move (after I transferred corp ended up doing an investigation and my second store manager ended up getting fired, along with three other people AND the DM stepped down).

THAT store was so negative and horrible that I gave up on becoming an ASM. My first store, I loved my store manager, I was on the track to move up to ASM so I was transferred to another store to work on that. I've worked at three stores officially, but worked a few days at a handful of others. The experience you get is really based on the store you're working at. I likely won't return when in the area, but perhaps this was just a cup made incorrectly, and would taste different on another day.I've worked for Starbucks for almost 6 years now. I am not a coffee snob, but I do enjoy great coffee, and this did not live up to the reviews. I didn't actually try it until I arrived closer to my meeting, but the drink was made extremely sweet and the milk tasted "off", so after a few drinks, I ended up actually pouring it out and having the coffee at the meeting location.

There are lots of coffee beans/variety to choose from (to take home), and lots of flavor combinations to create the perfect drink! I ordered a latte, skim milk, a "smidge" of vanilla. Service was extremely friendly and welcoming, very nice! There is limited seating inside, but perfect if having a cup solo or with a friend.

Parking was easy (nice surprise, since it's located downtown and not always the case). I love trying new coffee shops that are local that I haven't been to! I was back in Bismarck for work and hadn't yet had the opportunity to visit Coffee Break, but based on the reviews, it's been on my list to try when I am in town.
